Mathieu van Bellen and Maria Milstein have set out to realize a wonderful—yet ambitious—dream: establishing a chamber music center. A place where musicians can retreat to devote themselves entirely to music. This location offers young chamber musicians an ideal opportunity to further their development and, in doing so, discover and shape their personal and collective musical identity and unity.
MuziekHaven will be located in the historic Schuurkerk on Papenpad in Zaandam. Together with its three-story parsonage and large garden, this location is ideally suited for creating a home base where young musicians can develop in peace and quiet and prepare for concerts on major stages.
The parsonage will feature several smaller rehearsal spaces as well as accommodations for visiting musicians during multi-day rehearsal periods. In addition to serving as a rehearsal space, the church also functions as a concert hall; it has excellent acoustics and is suitable as a recording studio.
