special projects

Our musical mission is made possible because of your support. You can now also contribute to specific projects of The Netherlands Musical Instrument Foundation. In the past, we have been able to restore a unique Cuypers-cello from 1770, set up our 'Doorspelen'-campaign for refugee musicians, and help musicians financially.

Support musicians financially
The musicians that we support contribute to the collection costs and insurance premiums. Our special 'Steunfonds' offers musicians a contribution towards these costs if this amount is too high for them. With your support, all our talented musicians can continue to play on a high-quality instrument.

Instruments for refugees
The wars currently taking place is causing thousands of refugees to flee, for example to the Netherlands. These refugees also include professional musicians and music students. They often had to leave their instrument behind. The fled musicians are displaced, stressed and traumatized. By making a suitable instrument available, we hope to give them something special to hold onto.

Narrow keys for smaller hands
Pianist Hilda Huang has a Steinway & Sons grand piano on loan from the Netherlands Musical Instrument Foundation. She recently submitted a special request to the foundation: a modified keyboard with narrower keys, specifically made for pianists with smaller hands. We have initiated the development of this innovative, interchangeable keyboard and are asking for your support to realize this project.
