I am pianist Mariana Izman, a borrower from the Musical Instrument Fund since 1999. Since 2009, I have had the great pleasure of practicing on a beautiful Steinway grand piano, after having played on a Pleyel for 3 years and a Kawai for 7 years. It is not only a great joy and privilege to be able to practice on a beautiful grand piano every day, but also essential and necessary for me to prepare for my concerts on an instrument of the highest quality. I am immensely grateful to the fund for this. A few years ago, the grand piano was beautifully restored and fully meets the demands of concert performance, especially since there is (almost) always a Steinway grand piano on stage!
