History of this instrument
In 2009, the Musical Instrument Fund received a phone call from a notary who informed them that a client had passed away and that she had bequeathed a Steinway grand piano to the Musical Instrument Fund. It turned out to be this beautiful Steinway-A. The Musical Instrument Fund had the grand piano undergo a thorough restoration, after which it was in perfect condition to be passed on to its first player (Mariana Izman).
