Ian van den Berk
violin
My name is Ian van den Berk, and I am a violinist.
Ever since my studies at the conservatory, I have been active as an orchestral and chamber musician on national and international concert stages. I earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
Track record: EnAccord String Quartet, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Academy, permanent position with the Radio Chamber Philharmonic.
Current permanent position: Radio Philharmonic Orchestra
Among my most important teachers and inspirations are: Coosje Wijzenbeek, Jaring Walta, Philippe Herreweghe, and DaiDo Maas.
From an early age, I have shown a great love for chamber music. For many years, I was a member of the EnAccord String Quartet, with which I performed concerts both at home and abroad and won various awards. Recently, I performed as a chamber musician at the “Festival del Balcone” in Cinque Terre, Italy. I am currently studying the violin-piano repertoire.
In addition to my love of music, I am interested in philosophy, photography, and Zen.
