History of this instrument

In 1995, the Musical Instrument Fund received a large collection of instruments on loan from a private individual. In 2004, she decided to donate the entire collection to the fund, which we named after her: the Buziau Collection.

In 2006, Ms. Buziau received the Music Instrument Fund’s Medal of Honor, an award intended for those who have made an exceptional contribution to the Fund’s continued existence. The late Pieter Moerenhout, founder of the Musical Instrument Fund, established the medal.

This violin bow, made by Lothar Seifert, is part of the Buziau Collection. Frances Thé was the first to play it, followed by Marieke Berendsen. Currently, Serena Vanheuverswijn is the lucky owner of this German bow.
