On Friday, September 16, 2022, the Musical Instrument Fund organized its first-ever Showcase Festival—and it was a success! The festival, where visitors could enjoy nineteen different concerts in three different venues, took place at the Taets Art and Event Park in Zaandam. Despite the fall weather, hundreds of visitors made their way to our festive event.
We had the pleasure of enjoying a diverse range of concerts. Instruments ranged from the cello to the pan flute, from vocals to the harpsichord; genres spanned from centuries-old Baroque to neo-classical music created on the spot; and musicians included young talents who have won the Coosje Wijzenbeek Prize, conservatory students, and professional ensembles. In addition, there was a movie theater, a photo gallery, and a behind-the-scenes look at the Klop organ workshop and violin maker Maarten Bolten’s workshop.
Not even the rain and wind could spoil the day. Taking shelter under the tents, we enjoyed flammkuchen, a hamburger, or a glass of wine. The day ended with a musical finale, drinks, and laughter!
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to both the musicians and the audience. We were delighted to see you again and hope you also enjoyed all the wonderful performances!

At the festival, we drew attention to our desire to have several string instruments restored to their original Baroque condition. This will allow us to help more musicians who practice authentic performance practices find suitable instruments. Suitable instruments are carefully selected for this purpose. However, it is a costly undertaking! Help us out.
