Remi Blokker

My name is Remi. I was born in 2000, and I’m studying violin at the Utrecht Conservatory with Carla Leurs. Since 2023, I’ve been on loan this beautiful instrument by Max Möller from the Musical Instrument Fund.

I started playing the violin when I was 6 years old. I’ve been studying at the Utrecht Conservatory since 2023, first with Eeva Koskinen and now with Carla Leurs. Before that, I took lessons from Julia Dinerstein.

I have a deep love for orchestral playing. I have performed with the Netherlands Youth Orchestra, the Netherlands Student Orchestra, and, since 2019, the VU Orchestra. I have had the privilege of serving as concertmaster in various orchestras, under the baton of conductors such as René Gulikers and Arjan Tien. Playing in orchestras has also sparked a passion for conducting. I would like to pursue this further and am currently taking lessons from Alejandro Cantalapiedra.
