Jan-Bastiaan Neven

I have been playing a beautiful 1839 Antonio Pellizon cello since 2015. You can hear it, for example, with the Erard Ensemble and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. It was also featured on *Podium Witteman*: https://youtu.be/Ped2A8hP6d0

The Pellizon cello I play is quite large and wide and has a beautiful, deep bass and a spacious sound. I played it on the CD “With Love from Russia,” released by Onyx.

I take great pleasure in playing with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, with which we primarily perform unconducted concerts at the Concertgebouw and operas with the Dutch National Opera. The Pellizon blends beautifully there with a Bernadel and a Jacobs.

I also play a lot of chamber music in various ensembles and with the Erard Ensemble.

I stay in shape by running laps at the Jaap Eden Track and cycling hard on my Pinarello. Before going to sleep, I enjoy reading novels.
