Conservatorium van Amsterdam

Thanks to the Musical Instrument Fund, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam has an early Bechstein grand piano, a very rare Viennese fortepiano, a virginal, and a unique Erard grand piano. These instruments are available to the piano department, which, in part because of this, has access to a very broad range of keyboard instruments that represent virtually the entire history of the modern grand piano. The instruments from the fund are part of that extensive collection.

Students from other conservatories, or professional pianists interested in the specific characteristics of this instrument, may contact the Musical Instrument Fund at 020-6221255 or Head of Collections Frits Schutte. Access to the instruments can then be arranged in consultation with the conservatory.
