Giovanni Danieli

built in Two in ± 1780

History of this instrument

The donor of this violin told us in 1999 that he had come into contact with the Musical Instrument Fund through Theo Olof. He also explained that his niece, who had played the violin until she was 90, had given the instrument to him, and that he felt he should donate it to the Musical Instrument Fund. His niece fully agreed with this decision. Since being added to the collection, the violin has been loaned successively to Johan Olof, Ian van den Berk, José Boon, and Evelien Jaspers, and had been in the possession of Maxime Gulikers since 2012. Now Pieter Streefkerk is the lucky player of the violin from Padua.
