History of this instrument

In 2001, the Musical Instrument Fund commissioned Jan Strumphler to build this violin bow. The project was made possible thanks to a private donation. Oene van Geel was the first to play the bow. It then went to Peter Grond for six years. Naomi de Vries played it for seven years. Svetlana Pillipenko and Jet van Oosterhout also played the bow, and Carmen de la Cruz succeeded them. The bow is currently in the possession of Pieternel Tils.
