History of this instrument

This violin was purchased in 1989 from a dealer in Amsterdam and has been played as a Baroque violin ever since. It is one of the first instruments that the Musical Instrument Fund was able to acquire. Johannes Leertouwer was the first player; he returned it after a 15-year loan. After that, Anneke van Haaften, Igor Ruhadze, Carla Leurs, and Filip Rekiec played this violin. Since 2021, Javier Lupiañez has been the lucky player.
