History of this instrument
In 2024, the Musical Instrument Fund acquired a cello bow and a violin bow from the French bowmaker Joséphine Thomachot. These are the first bows in our collection to have been made by a female bowmaker! Ade Nicolas has been playing the Parisian bow since 2026.
