This is the Musical Instrument Fund

The video introduces the Musical Instrument Fund to people who are not yet familiar with it and offers a glimpse into the fund’s office, located in the heart of Amsterdam. What happens in the Instrument Room? How does a musician choose the instrument that’s right for them? And why is the fund important to the Dutch music scene? Manon Veenendaal (director) and Geertje van der Linden (collection manager) explain.

Special thanks to our musicians

In the video, you can see four musicians who have instruments on loan from the fund: Adinda van Delft plays a violin, possibly built by the Voller Brothers, with a violin bow made by Lothar Seifert. Keith Ng plays a marimba built in 2021 by Adams in Ittervoort. Dafne Paris plays a Salvi harp from 2020. César Puente has both a double bass, built by René Zaal, and a double bass bow, made by Jan Strumphler in Vleuten, on loan.
