Mascha van Nieuwkerk
from Orsolo Gotti

"The concert made a deep impression on us. You always manage to turn it into a celebration!" More than a thousand attendees enjoyed three absolutely stunning Presentation Concerts in early November. First in Zwolle, then in Amsterdam, and a magnificent finale in The Hague. In addition to passionate young musicians, our donors and their guests also heard renowned top musicians, watched footage showcasing craftsmanship, and enthusiastically participated in a quiz hosted by the Musical Instrument Fund.

Mascha van Nieuwkerk (Gotti cello, ca. 1900) and Sasha Witteveen (Scaramelli double bass, 2018) jointly presented their new Italian loves in Gioachino Rossini’s Duet for Cello and Double Bass.

In a video message, violin maker Hubert de Launay explained how he approaches the restoration of a 250-year-old Cuypers cello.

For once, the audience was allowed to take out their phones. Host Marlies Leupen asked questions about the Musical Instrument Fund, and the submitted answers appeared on the screen. By scanning the Tikkie code, anyone who wanted to could immediately make a donation toward the Cuypers restoration.

After a short film about the construction of a Monteverdi organ, collection manager Frits Schutte demonstrated the difference between a stopped pipe and an open pipe. Our organ features open cypress pipes.

The concerts concluded with the sisters Maria (oboe & vocals) and Anuschka Pedano (viola), who won everyone's hearts with French chansons.
