Yuting Lu

violin, violin bow

Hi, I’m Yuting Lu (born in 1997), a Taiwanese/Dutch violinist. I play a beautiful violin from The Hague and a Parisian bow, thanks to the Musical Instrument Fund!

My name is Yuting Lu. I started playing the violin when I was ten, and it has been an indispensable part of my life ever since. My musical journey took me from Taiwan to the Netherlands, where I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in classical violin at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. There, I studied with Vera Beths, Janet Krause, and Arisa Fujita, among others.

I’ve been fortunate to perform with various orchestras, including the Residentie Orkest Den Haag and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, where I regularly work as a substitute. I have also served as second violin section leader with the Animato Foundation Orchestra and participated in the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.

Thanks to the Musical Instrument Fund, I am able to play a beautiful instrument, something for which I am immensely grateful. The violin supports me in my quest to find my own sound and expression, and I am constantly discovering new possibilities in my playing.

What inspires me most about music is making music together. Whether in a symphony orchestra or a chamber music ensemble, the ensemble playing and the interaction with other musicians make it magical for me. I look forward to continuing my musical journey and sharing my passion with others!
