The Ommen and Surrounding Areas String Quartets Foundation aims to “promote chamber music” by organizing concerts and recitals in a suitable setting.
To achieve its goal of “promoting chamber music,” the Ommen and Surrounding Areas String Quartets Foundation works closely with the board of the Kunstkring Ommen (KKO) association. Together, they provide a varied program for the concerts.
Since 2024, the foundation has had a Bösendorfer grand piano, built in Vienna in 1997, on loan from the Musical Instrument Fund. By organizing more than ten public concerts each year, the foundation ensures that a wide audience can hear the Bösendorfer and that various musicians have the opportunity to play the instrument.
