Olga Göschel

violin

My name is Olga Göschel (2004). As a little girl, I was always dancing and singing. Even then, it was clear that music was my great passion. When I was 5 years old, I got my first violin, and Tomoko Suzuki came to my house every week to give me lessons.

In 2016, I competed in my first violin competition and received a special award. This inspired me to focus entirely on the violin. That same year, I began studying with violin teacher Wiesje Miedema in the Young Talent Department at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

During my studies, I participated in various violin competitions. I won third prize at the Iordens Violin Competition, reached the semifinals of the Davina van Wely Violin Competition, and was one of the winners of the Coosje Wijzenbeek Prize. I also discovered my love for chamber music and, with my piano quintet, performed works by Schumann, Shostakovich, and Dvořák under the guidance of Mila Baslawskaja and Dmitri Ferschtman.

Since 2022, I have been pursuing a bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under violin instructor Peter Brunt. I am actively developing as a violinist and have had the opportunity to participate in many exciting projects. For example, in 2024, I performed at the Delft Chamber Music Festival. I also performed Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet with Anna Fedorova, David Cohen, and Dana Zemtsov at the Davidsbündler Music Academy. During the Delft Chamber Music Workshop, I performed Janáček’s String Quartet No. 2 with Pavel Fischer. And with my piano quartet, I performed at the Dudok Chamber Music Festival in Kampen.

I’ve also participated in a number of projects, such as Tchaikovsky’s opera *Eugene Onegin* with Opera op het Hogeland in 2024. And in 2025, I performed with the Wonderfeel Festival Orchestra. Currently, I play in a piano quartet and, together with Neil Dixon, form the violin duo Mohona.

I play a beautiful French violin from 1889, built by Joseph Hel in Lille, on loan from the Musical Instrument Fund. I am very grateful for that.
