Nikola Meeuwsen

grand piano

Dear visitor, my name is Nikola Meeuwsen and I am a pianist. I live in The Hague and play a beautiful Bösendorfer from the collection of the Musical Instrument Fund.

After hearing Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto performed by Vladimir Horowitz, it became clear to me that I wanted to become a pianist. I am currently studying with Marlies van Gent and Enrico Pace at the Accademia Pianistica di Imola. Imola is a small village near Bologna.

I give concerts both in the Netherlands and abroad. The Concertgebouw awarded me the 2019 Concertgebouw Young Talent Award. In addition, I won the Royal Concertgebouw Competition in 2014 and the Steinway Competition in 2012. On April 24, 2020, Avrotros released my debut CD featuring works by Schumann, Scriabin, Brahms, and Bach.

My favorite pianists are Horowitz, Schnabel, Sofronitsky, Cziffra, Rubinstein, Lipatti, Sokolov, Pogorelich, Volodos, and Gould.

My passions are music, cycling, good food, and reading.

I play a beautiful Bösendorfer 226 grand piano from the Muziekinstrumentenfonds. A grand piano with a magnificent sound and technically flawless action. I am very grateful to be able to play this instrument and that it fits in my home. An instrument this large doesn’t fit just anywhere.

On my website, nikolameeuwsen.com, you’ll find my concert schedule and more information. I look forward to meeting you at one of my concerts.
