Minori Mori

violin

My name is Minori, and I was born in 2009. I took my first violin lessons at age five from Anke Foede in Wijchen. When I was eight years old, I joined the youth string ensemble of the Arcato Foundation in Zutphen. With the Arcato ensemble, I participated in various festivals, for example in France and Belgium. In September 2022, I was accepted into the Academy for Musical Talent under Chris Duindam. Since then, I have had the opportunity to give solo performances in various locations. I also participate in ensemble projects in the Netherlands (e.g., the Cungnon Junior Consort Ensemble, led by Chris Duindam) and in Italy. In addition, in 2024 I had the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the Ensemble Sequenza project, conducted by Remy Baudet.

In 2022, I participated in the Britten Competition for the first time, where I received an encouragement award. In 2024, I also competed in the Iordens B category of the Dutch Violin Competition and the Princess Christina Competition, winning third prize in the regional finals of the latter.

I am very happy with this beautiful violin, built by Daniel Parker, which I have on loan from the Musical Instrument Fund. The fund had all kinds of wonderful violins, each with a different character, yet I felt that the Parker gave me the warm tone I was looking for. Every time I stand on stage with this violin, I hope that my emotions will also touch the audience. And I will always do my best to make that happen. I am very grateful to the Music Instrument Fund for enabling me to take a big step forward with this violin and, hopefully, gain many new experiences.

I’m in a gymnasium class at the NSG Groenewoud in Nijmegen. I really enjoy drawing, and I love reading and photography.
