I started taking cello lessons when I was eight. First privately, then in the Young Talents Class at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle and at the AMT in Utrecht. Since September 2016, I have been taking classes in the preparatory program at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Larissa Groeneveld.
I am the cello section leader for the Netherlands Youth Orchestra and the Vuurvogel Youth Symphony Orchestra. I also play in a piano trio with Florence van der Does and Jet van Oosterhout.
Ever since I got my new cello and bow, I’ve really started to notice the difference between various instruments. When choosing a cello, there was no doubt in my mind—this was the one for me. I’m very happy with my cello and all the new possibilities it offers in terms of sound and technique!
