Kilian van Rooij

violin

My name is Kilian van Rooij. Since December 2018, I have had the honor of playing a beautiful 1758 Joseph Gagliano violin and of joining the Musical Instrument Fund.

In 2017, I graduated with honors from the Royal Academy of Music in London, after which I moved back to the Netherlands.

For me, music is about conveying emotions and, above all, connecting with your soul. During a concert, my goal is to make time stand still for a moment and, through music, to connect my audience with one another, with themselves, and with each other.

This is very important to me, especially in a time when everything moves so quickly and when, particularly due to the superficiality of social media, fragmentation and isolation have set in.

I want to bring people back to the essence and, even if only for a brief moment during a concert, bring them together and help them connect.
