Jorian van Nee

grand piano

Hi! Pressing keys to make sounds—how cool is that? Putting sound on paper—what?! With a little luck, you’ll get by. That’s too much.

Hi!! My name is Jorian van Nee, and I was born in 1999. I’ve been playing the piano since I was nine years old. It’s so awesome to have a whole keyboard right in front of you and be able to do whatever you want. It’s just like conducting an entire orchestra.

The piano I have on loan from the Musical Instrument Fund is a Bechstein with an incredibly beautiful, warm tone. It’s a lovely old model—the kind Arthur Rubinstein said was his favorite. Besides playing the piano, I also love composing, writing poems—I just enjoy being creative.

Speaking of composing, I’m going to go back to working on a new piece for a bit. If you’d like to learn more about me, please visit http://www.jorianvannee.nl. If you’d like to listen to some music, you can also find my name on YouTube. Don’t hesitate—give it a listen; it’s a small piece, but hopefully a pleasant one. Who knows, it might even bring a smile to your face.
