Frances Inzenhofer

double bass

My name is Frances, and I am playing on the Joseph Xavier Jacquet double bass from the Foundation's collection. I am an American and German bass player, having completed my Bachelor’s degree at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and my Master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I am currently an academist with the L'Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.

To me, having a great instrument at my disposal means that I can pursue my musical goals without limitations or obstacles. I can play in every musical setting, comfortably! Whether I’m playing in orchestra, performing chamber music, or playing as a soloist, I can feel comfortable knowing that I can perform at my fullest potential without having to sacrifice sound quality or musical integrity.

As I continue to take part in auditions and new opportunities, having such a good instrument by my side makes me feel like the musical world is open to me. I have a fair shot at competing with other excellent bass players and the freedom to choose a future that will continue to challenge and inspire me.

I’m incredibly grateful to Musical Instrument Foundation for providing me with an instrument that makes all of this possible.
