Hello! My name is Eva de Vries, and I’m a violinist. I’m lucky enough to play a violin provided by the Music Instrument Fund!
My name is Eva de Vries (born in 1995), and I’m a passionate violinist. I’ve been playing in chamber music ensembles and orchestras my whole life.
Since the 2022–2023 season, I have been a permanent member of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.
Currently, I am the first violinist in the Bloomsbury Quartet. This quartet is based in London, so I have to travel back and forth from time to time for concerts.
I also serve as a substitute in various orchestras in the Netherlands and teach both at home and abroad.
I attended the School for Young Talent (2007–2013) under Mireille van der Wart, and then I earned my bachelor’s degree under Peter Brunt and Philippe Graffin (2013–2017).
In 2017, my string trio, The New String Trio, won the Grand Chamber Music Prize. This allowed us to perform at major festivals in the Netherlands and England. We were also featured on the radio.
To spread my wings internationally, I went on to complete my Master of Music (2017–2019) at the Royal Academy of Music in London under Levon Chilingirian, first violinist of the Chilingirian Quartet.
