Anna Petrovitsch, born in Amsterdam in 2007, has been playing the harp since she was seven. Since 2020, she has been a young student of Erika Waardenburg at the Utrecht Conservatory (AMT). Prior to that, she took harp lessons from Manja Smits at the Muziekpakhuis. She is currently studying at the HfMDK in Frankfurt with Prof. Françoise Verherve. She passed her high school final exams in June 2025, thereby completing her high school education.
In the summer of 2026, she won both first prize in her category and the special “Mirella Vita” prize for the best performance of the required piece at the Suoni d’Arpa harp competition in Italy.
At the 2023 Princess Christina Competition, Anna won second prize and the audience prize, having already won first prize and the audience prize in the regional finals. In 2021, she was a finalist at the Concertgebouw Competition. In 2018 and 2020, she won first prize in the Solo and Chamber Music categories of the Rosa Spier Harp Competition, and in 2020 she also won first prize for the required piece.
Anna regularly gives concerts, both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles, in the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland. As a soloist, she has performed with the Kennemer Youth Orchestra and the German Würselener Symphonieorchester. In December 2025, she performed Reinecke’s harp concerto twice with the Aachen Chamber Orchestra.
In 2022, she was a member of the Netherlands National Youth Orchestra (JON) and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Young (RCO Young) project orchestra. That same year, she also appeared as a “Young Heroine” on the television program *Podium Klassiek*.
She took masterclasses with Petra van der Heijde (KCO), Anneleen Schuitemaker (KCO), Godelieve Schrama (Detmold), Marie-Pierre Langlamet (Berlin), and Sandrine Chatron (Amsterdam).
Anna has a German father (a cellist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra) and a Dutch mother (a violinist with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra in Amsterdam). She holds both nationalities but has lived in the Netherlands her entire life.
Anna is incredibly grateful for the harp she was able to choose from the Musical Instrument Fund. The beautiful Salvi Arianna has rich bass tones with a warm sound and a sparkling high register that will only continue to develop over time.
