Anna Meenderink
viola, viola bow
My name is Anna Meenderink, and I recently began studying at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg with Wolfram Christ. After studying for a few years at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (with Koosje van Haeringen, Kerstin Hoelen, and Liesbeth Steffens), I thought it would be a good idea to seek out some new inspiration.
My name is Anna Meenderink, and I recently began studying at the Freiburg University of Music under Wolfram Christ. After studying for a few years at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (with Koosje van Haeringen, Kerstin Hoelen, and Liesbeth Steffens), I thought it would be a good idea to seek out some new inspiration. I’ve had a viola and a bow on loan from the NMF since 2013, and I’m still just as happy with them. The instrument was a little on the large side for me (I’m just a small girl), but after a year of getting used to it, things went much better. The instrument produces a warm yet full-bodied sound. Since November 2015, I’ve been playing in a permanent quartet, the Metis Quartet, and it’s fantastic to create different timbres together. The bond I’ve built with the instrument is very strong, and together we’re going to make it a wonderful adventure in Freiburg.
