*1963 , Rhoon

Pieter Affourtit was born in 1963 in Rhoon, South Holland. At the age of 11, he began taking violin lessons with Martin Sonneveld. Even while studying at the conservatory in The Hague, he began specializing in period performance practice. After playing for more than ten years in various Baroque orchestras across Europe, Affourtit decided to combine his passion for music with his passion for bows and woodworking.
