Marcus van den Munckhof

Marcus van den Munckhof (1988) began playing the cello at the age of four. Throughout his life, he has always had a deep fascination with instruments and bows. After graduating from the conservatory in 2015, Marcus began making bows while learning the craft from Andreas Grütter and Luis Emilio Rodriguez Carrington. In recent years, Marcus has crafted bows for all instruments in the string family, and all of these bows have found homes with various musicians in the Netherlands as well as with members of ensembles such as the Freiburger Barockorchester and the B’rock Orchestra.

In addition to his work as a musician, Marcus finds it particularly rewarding that crafting a bow produces a lasting result, and he takes great joy in helping his fellow musicians achieve the greatest possible enjoyment while playing.
