History of this instrument

In 2018, this Morizot violin bow—along with other bows and instruments—was bequeathed to the Musical Instrument Fund. The testator was a violinist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, a composer, and a researcher of microtonal music. He also bequeathed a number of musical instruments to the Huygens-Fokker Foundation, the center for the study and performance of microtonal music. Among these instruments were a five-string violin, a saz, and a three-string pipa or liuqin. Since the Morizot entered the collection of the Musical Instrument Fund, Brit Issa Rijnen has been in possession of this French violin bow.
