History of this instrument
This bow is part of a collection of bows that the Musical Instrument Fund can lend out in its entirety (or in part) on a project basis. Most of the bows in that collection were made by contemporary Dutch bowmakers. One exception to that rule is this bow. It is a rare antique bow from the Classical period, purchased from a private collector in 2002. Both students and professional musicians may be eligible for a temporary loan. The Musical Instrument Fund gives priority to projects in which the entire collection—or a large portion of it—is used. However, individual musicians and small ensembles may also apply to borrow a Baroque bow temporarily.
