History of this instrument

This Möller viola comes from the collection of Klaas Boon, who served for many years as principal violist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra. In 1997, the viola was initially added to the collection of Het Muziekinstrumentenfonds on loan. In 2005, the fund was given the opportunity to purchase the viola—an opportunity it did not pass up. Roeland Jagers became the first player of the viola, followed by Vilém Kijonka and Frederik Boits, all of whom are viola players of the highest caliber. Starting in early 2016, the alto was played by Marie-Louise de Jong. Currently, Emiel de Jongh Swemer is the lucky one.
