In 2013, a private individual donated his Steinway grand piano to the Musical Instrument Fund. Despite his advanced age of 87, he intended to continue playing the instrument himself. The Steinway remained in his home until his death, and he continued to play it every day. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2024 at the age of 98. Hilda Huang had been on our waiting list for some time and selected his grand piano. To honor the donor and thank his family, Hilda gave a concert in her small apartment where his daughter and granddaughters could hear the grand piano one last time. It was a special and moving gathering. Hilda’s virtuosity surprised them and made a huge impression on the family!
