History of this instrument
This bass was loaned to the Musical Instrument Fund by a private individual in 2024. Bassist Uxia Martinez showcased the bass in a sound test at the beautiful Studio 150 in Amsterdam Noord. Although the bass is officially a half-size instrument, it’s also very comfortable for solo (adult) players like Uxia—“like a race car that responds quickly and lets you express everything you want to convey.” Raquel Leite is currently using the bass to express everything she wants to convey.
