History of this instrument

In 2018, this Bösendorfer grand piano was bequeathed to the Musical Instrument Fund. It was agreed with the testator’s widow that she would continue to play the instrument as long as she had the space to do so. And so it was, but in 2019, due to a move, she had to part with the instrument she was so attached to. The grand piano then found its way to Mattias Spee, who was very happy with the beautiful instrument for three years.

After his third year, a similar situation arose for him; having completed his studies, he had to leave his room at the Conservatory House and found a new room that was too small for the grand piano. The foundation then attempted to leave the grand piano in Mattias’s old room for the next piano student, but the room had already been assigned to another music student.

Fortunately, in 2023, a new candidate emerged with a new home for this Viennese grand piano: Guillermo Castellano. He has since returned the grand piano, and Philip Karmanov is now the lucky player.
