“Classical Meets Jazz”
in a double bass
master class

On November 12, 2005, the Musical Instrument Foundation is organizing a double bass master class in collaboration with the Pro Basse Foundation and Cristofori Concerts. Following successful editions for cellists and violinists, it is now the turn of the lowest-pitched string instruments: the double basses. This interesting and versatile instrument plays an important role in classical music as well as in pop, folk, and jazz, but is often underestimated as a solo instrument.

The Musical Instrument Foundation

The Musical Instrument Foundation has been organizing masterclasses at Cristofori for many years. These are taught by renowned musicians to talented students who have an instrument on loan from the fund. In previous years, the violin (under the guidance of Theo Olof) and the cello (under the guidance of Quirine Viersen) have been featured.
