Chieko Donker Duyvis
from Johann Stüber

Live from our office—and while maintaining a safe distance—you’ll hear the sounds of top musicians and their unique instruments. The instruments from the Musical Instrument Fund and their players are eager to share their music now that concerts aren’t possible for the time being. Tune in and enjoy the music, the story behind the instrument, and the musicians.
During the COVID-19 crisis in the spring of 2020, it was virtually impossible for many people to enjoy music outside their homes. That’s why the Musical Instrument Fund launched a series of concerts that were streamed live so that donors and other interested parties could still listen to live music. In this series of videos, you can watch these livestreamed concerts and enjoy a selection of talented musicians all over again.
Chieko fell in love with the cello at age 8 and plays a Daniël Royé cello (Amsterdam, 2010) on loan from the foundation. In addition to her love for classical music, Chieko is also interested in pushing the boundaries of classical music and often collaborates with poets, visual artists, and dancers. She also works as a composer. In addition to her cello, Chieko also has a cello bow on loan from the foundation—a bow by Daniel Ter Berg.
