Carla Leurs
from Giovanni Battista Guadagnini

Live from our office—and while maintaining a safe distance—we bring you the sounds of top musicians and their unique instruments. The instruments from the Musical Instrument Fund and their players are eager to share their music now that concerts are on hold for the time being. Tune in and enjoy the music, the story behind the instrument, and the musicians.
During the COVID-19 crisis in the spring of 2020, it was virtually impossible for many people to enjoy music outside their homes. That’s why the Musical Instrument Fund launched a series of concerts that were streamed live so that donors and other interested parties could still listen to live music. In this series of videos, you can watch these livestreamed concerts and enjoy a selection of talented musicians all over again.
Carla served as concertmaster of the Gelders Orchestra and the Orkest van het Oosten, and has worked as a (guest) concertmaster with various other renowned orchestras. She served as musical director of the orchestra on the popular TV show *Maestro*. She has been playing the violin since she was 6 and studied with Itzhak Perlman and Donald Weilerstein, among others. Carla currently plays a violin built by Nicolas Lupot (Paris, 1808) and a Peccatte bow, both on loan from the Musical Instrument Fund.
