traditional Dutch

Jacobs, Verbeek, Rombouts, Cuypers... The Netherlands has an impressive history of violin making. The Old Dutch master violin makers from the 17th and 18th centuries are gaining increasing international recognition and hold a special place within the collection. The Musical Instrument Fund is therefore pleased to literally “put them on the map.” Card folders featuring our instruments, published by Bekking & Blitz, are available for purchase (while supplies last)!
Collaboration
For some time now, there had been a desire to have the Music Instrument Fund design cards featuring instruments from the collection, so that we could send a thank-you or congratulatory card every now and then. But since that would require an additional investment, we looked for another solution. We reached out to the publisher Bekking & Blitz, known for their luxury art cards and art gifts sold in museum shops. They embraced the idea of bringing products to market using our instrument photos. A wonderful collaboration: The Musical Instrument Fund provides the visual material and writes the texts, Bekking & Blitz handles the design, printing, and distribution.

Traditional Dutch Violin Making on the Map
Ten unique Old Dutch instruments have been selected for a set of ten greeting cards. The high-quality photographs (by Cathy Levesque) of the violins, cellos, and a viola are accompanied by historical descriptions. This allows the recipient of the card to discover this magnificent cultural heritage and a rare part of the collection of the Musical Instrument Fund!
With your purchase, you are supporting the Musical Instrument Fund
In fact, sales of the card sets benefit the Musical Instrument Fund to some extent, as 5% of the proceeds from each product sold goes to the fund. The sets, which include 10 cards and 10 envelopes, are available in limited quantities, while supplies last. Orders can now only be placed through the Musical Instrument Fund via email or phone: info@muziekinstrumentenfonds.nl and 020-6221255.
