On these occasions, the Bakkerswinkel opens its doors to the public, who can enjoy a delicious Bakkerswinkel breakfast while taking in an informal concert in a cozy, home-like atmosphere.

Through the breakfast concerts, the Musical Instrument Foundation aims to provide young, talented borrowers with a stage where they can gain experience in performing concerts.

In addition, through these breakfast concerts, the Foundation offers the public the opportunity to get to know the borrowers from the Foundation and the instruments they play—all at a special time and in a unique location, right in the heart of Amsterdam.

The very active and young Rodin Piano Trio performed on Sunday, April 10 the first breakfast concert in the series. Both first violinist Sophia Torrenga and cellist Sanne van der Horst play instruments provided to them by the Foundation. Anna van Nieukerken had previously been on loan an instrument from the fund.

On Sunday, May 8 (Mother’s Day), the concert will be entirely dedicated to the cello solo. Jur de Vries and Jozien Jansen will showcase their cello skills in a varied program featuring works by Reger and Bach, among others.
