Sonsoles Vallés

Since I first heard my sister playing the piano, I knew I wanted to begin a journey with music. As I grew older I began to understand how music affects and connects people, which led me to decide I wanted to dedicate myself to it.

Sonsoles Vallés (2003) started her violin studies at the age of 7 with professor Fernando Ríus in CIM Padre Antonio Soler. She continued receiving classes with Alexander Detísov, emeritus professor at the Reina Sofía School of  Music. She graduated with Honors, winning the Prize of End of Studies in 2021.

In June of 2025, she finished her Bachelor Degree in Codarts, where she studied with Gordan Nikolic and Goran Grivajcevik, getting her diploma with Cum Laude.

She has received master classes with renowned musicians like Olga Vilkomirskaya, Polina Kotliarskaya, Tanja Becker-Bender, Friederike Starkloff and Ayke Agus among others, and with ensembles, with Gregory Chaverdian, Tilman Krämer, Marc Danel and Jonathan Brown.

Currently, she is a member of the NSKA with her quartet (Zinnia Cuartet) where she has received lessons from renowned chamber musicians like Luc-Marie Aguera (Quatuor Ysaye), Simone Gramaglia (Quartetto di Cremona) and Yovan Markovitch (Danel Quatuor). She will continue to receive guidance and mentorship from members of well-known ensembles.

She is an active member of Nationaal Jeudorkest (NJO) where she has worked with conductors Martin Sieghart and Anthony Hermus, giving her the opportunity of playing in halls like Musikverein Wien, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Konzerthaus Berlin.

She feels very grateful for the possibility of playing  a 1912 Giorgio Gatti violin and an Albert Nürnberger bow granted by Het Muziek Instrumenten Fonds, and believes that the instruments will inspire her and help her grow along in her professional career.
