I play solo and chamber music repertoires ranging from the late 17th to the 20th century on historical instruments, always eager to learn and apply the latest findings to my own playing. Historical research helps me to develop new ways to make the music speak!
After receiving my Master's degree from the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal, my interest in historical performance practice led me to study baroque cello with Susie Napper (University of Montreal) and Viola de Hoog (Conservatorium van Amsterdam). Since then, I received a number of prizes and awards, including at the International Concours Corneille (FR), Early Music Yamanashi (Japan), Brothers Graun International Competition (DE), and the Handel House Talent (London).
In recent years, my main focus has been the historical performance of Romantic music: together with pianist Artem Belogurov, I lead the experimental artistic research platform called the Romantic Lab. As a duo with Artem, I performed internationally during festivals such as Oude Muziek Utrecht, Montreal Baroque, Festival Royaumont, and IYAP, as well as in halls such as Muziekgebouw aan't IJ, TivoliVredenburg and Societeit de Vereniging Den Haag.
I also regularly perform around Europe with ensembles such as Postscript, Ensemble Masques, Vox Luminis, La Sfera Armoniosa, Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique.
