viool, vioolstrijkstok
My name is Laura Torres Morales, and I am from Andalucía, in the South of Spain.
What fascinates me about art is the infinite search of knowledge that music provides you with. The search for this inherent beauty that sound has, of the emotions that it embodies when combined with other sounds to become music.
In 2022 I finished my Bachelor studies in the Conservatorio Superior de Aragón, in Spain, with Josep Colomé Lozano. Afterwards, in 2023, I moved to Zwolle to start my master’s degree in ArtEZ Conservatorium, under the mentorship of Sarah Kapustin.
Since 2015, I have played in several young orchestras from Spain, acquiring knowledge and experience as an orchestra musician.
Besides, I am very passionate about chamber music, and I would love to make a living out of it in the future. The dedication of the different parts to the music, being open to give and receive, reacting and interacting as any other language would involve, is something that just fascinates me. I love to learn from other people and make the knowledge they gift me part of myself. During my Bachelor studies, I received lessons from Aitor Hevia and Cibrán Sierra, from the Cuarteto Quiroga. They cultivated my love for string quartet and chamber music. In 2025, I had the great opportunity to play with the Matangi Quartet on a river cruise through Germany, allowing me to develop my skills further. In addition, the same year I have had the opportunity to play several performances with string octet, string quartet and piano and violin duo.
On 2025 I could be able to borrow this beautiful instrument. At the moment, we are just starting to get to know each other, but during the two months I have been playing it, it has opened in a marvellous way. Its tone is rich and warm, with a very special G string. Although I am still learning from it, I have already noticed how much this violin is allowing me to grow as an artist. Regarding the bow, it fits the instrument perfectly, making it resonate and project even more. It is very comfortable and allows me to explore the different colours that this Goldnagl still can offer me.
