My name is Daniela and I am a mexican harpsichordist. I started my musical studies in piano at a very young age, later on, in 2015, I started to study harpsichord in Italy, and in 2023, I moved on in the Netherlands; since then, I have had the opportunity to have a beautiful harpsichord from the Het Muziekinstrumentenfonds.
Born in Mexico City, I studied piano in Mexico and Germany.
After graduated, I moved to Italy to study harpsichord and historical keyboard instruments under the lead of Professor Basilio Timpanaro, at the Music Conservatory “Alessandro Scarlatti”, Palermo, Italy, where I got my bachelor’s and master’s degree with the maximum score (110/110) magna cum laude and honourable mention.
In 2023, I moved to the Netherlands to study harpsichord with professor Siebe Henstra. Currently, I play a double manual Harpsichord after Ruckers made by Bettenhauser in 2000, from the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds. For me having the opportunity to play this instrument is a dream come true, as I could never had imagined having such a nice instrument at home.
Some details about my background involve that in 2016, I was one of the finalist at the International Harpsichord Contest “Gianni Gambi”. From 2018 to 2023 I had the position of principal continuist at the Orchestra Nazionale Barocca dei Conservatori. In 2022, I was one of the finalist of the “Premio Nazionale delle Arti”. From 2017 to 2023, I have been awarded with a scholarship for serving as correpetitor as part of the Early Music Department at the Music Conservatory “Alessandro Scarlatti” in Palermo, Italy.I have also played for several festivals in Italy and Europe like the Internationaal Kamermuziek Festival Utrecht, Musica Antica Den Haag, Internationaal Festival Zutphen, Festival Trigonale, Festival Roma Festival Barocco, Associazione Karl Jenkins, Amici della musica Padova, Massimo Theater, Luglio Musicale Trapanese, Marchesato Opera Festival, Festival Gaudete, Festival Tartini, among others.In 2019, I participated on a CD recording with the soloist Filippo Minecia, and under the direction of Paolo Perrone performing inedited Arias by Francesco Gasparini.
