The wars currently raging around the world are creating countless refugees, including those fleeing to the Netherlands. Among these refugees are professional musicians and music students. Thanks to the efforts of the Musical Instrument Fund, they can continue to play.

Musicians fleeing their homes often had to leave their instruments behind. Once in the Netherlands, they are displaced, stressed, and traumatized. A roof over their heads, food, access to medical care, education for their children, peace, and a sense of routine—these are their top priorities.

Their familiar instrument gives them an incredibly important source of comfort. Making music helps them take their minds off things for a moment.

We’ve received a huge number of instruments, so unfortunately it may take a little longer for us to get back to you. It may also take some time to find the perfect match with a refugee.
