I am Meri Khojayan and I play the violin for whole my conscious life. My mission is to complete the whole violin piano chamber music repertoire with very gifted pianist Robert Poortinga. Due to our hard work I am very proud to say that we already have performed about 50 violin piano sonatas in the last 7 years together.
I was born in Yerevan. I play the violin since I was 5 years old. From the first moment on the violin took and music took over my life.
In 2001 when I was 10 years old I had a 6 week tour in USA and since then I didn’t stop performing on the stage in many countries of the world. I won prizes in various international competitions which gave me opportunity to play more concerts. In 2010 I moved to the Netherlands to continue my violin studies and got based in here. At the moment I am playing lots of chamber music with my partner in music, stage and life, pianist Robert Poortinga. Last 7 years I was busy intensively studying piano violin chamber music repertoire with the guidance of my two musical heroes Enrico Pace and Lukas Hagen.
Next to playing the violin I like being in the nature, running, eating vegetarian food, petting my rabbit and reading something informative.
I am extremely lucky to own a very fine Italian violin and after searching for over 10 years thanks to muziek instrumenten fonds I found this wonderful bow. It helps me getting out the most of my violin and realise the sound that I have heard in my head for a very long time. It is an old bow but has a power of a bull.
