Max Valkenburcht Dombrowski
As a pianist with the dream of pursuing a career as a performing musician, it is incredibly important to me to always have a good instrument at my disposal. Thanks to the Musical Instrument Fund, I’ve been able to borrow a beautiful Steinway A, which allows me to delve even deeper into my sound and repertoire. As a bachelor’s student, this instrument comes to me at a crucial stage in my development.
After completing my studies at the School for Young Talent at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where I studied with Marlies van Gent and Denys Proshayev, I was admitted to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I am currently in my third year of the bachelor’s program there, studying with Frank Peters. My musical development is a great journey of discovery, and I hope to make the most of it and absorb as much of the rich piano repertoire as possible.
Since I’ve been combining my conservatory studies with medical school in recent years, I occasionally face scheduling challenges during the week. The fact that I can spend hours practicing on my instrument in peace and quiet when I get home is invaluable to me. This allows me to prepare myself as best as possible for an international career and for participating in major competitions in the future. Once again, many thanks to everyone involved!
