Hi! My name is Matteo Mijderwijk (1990), and I’m a pianist. After graduating from the conservatory in 2015, I started composing my own piano music.
I started playing the piano at age 14 after buying a keyboard at the supermarket. Not long after, I enrolled at the Tilburg Conservatory, where I studied both classical and improvised music. In 2015, I completed my master’s degree there with a thesis on the modes of Olivier Messiaen.
In 2021, I signed a recording contract with Warner Classics. I have released several piano albums there: *Notes of Loning*, *Veluwe Suite*, *A Brief Nostalgia*, *Renaissance*, and *Wintersleep*. *Nocturnal Blues* will be released in the fall of 2025.
