My name is Maria Milstein, and I’m a violinist. For several years now, I’ve had a strong connection with the Musical Instrument Fund, which allowed me to play a beautiful Francesco Goffriller violin in 2011; After playing other instruments for a while, I returned to the Music Instrument Fund, from which I now have a very special instrument on loan. The magnificent Michel Angelo Bergonzi violin that I’ve been playing since 2016 once belonged to Herman Krebbers—Krebbers played countless concerts and made recordings on it.
Since 2022, I’ve also had the privilege of playing a magnificent old French bow made by Léonard Tourte—a wonderful bow that brings out the full potential of the Bergonzi violin.
It is a special honor for me to be able to play a violin with such a history, accompanied by such a beautiful bow! If you’re also curious about how the ex-Krebbers violin sounds, please come to one of my concerts! I hope you’ll enjoy the beautiful tone and strong personality of this instrument just as much as I do!
